questo e’ il mio primo post in italiano. ho pensato che quello che ho da dire interessera’ piu’ gli italiani che gli altri, quindi…

tutti sappiamo quanto sia popolare il calcio qui in italia e anche quanto fastidioso sia che in tv non si riescano a vedere _tutte_ le partite dei mondiali, anche quelle piu’ “insignificanti” che rendono pero’ il mondiale lo spettacolo che e’.

ecco due soluzioni facili facili per vedere anche quelle partite che la rai, nella sua piccolezza, non trasmette.

1. scaricate tvuplayer: e’ un player di stream video per windows. molto facile da installare, basta selezionare il canale ESPN, stappare una birra e godersi la partita.
2. visitate il sito ESPN360 (serve Flash Player 8.0) e scegliete il canae che trasmette la partita. puo’ accadere che il sistema vi impedisca di vedere la partita se siete fuori dagli stati uniti: niente paura! lo si puo’ gabbare settando come proxy nel vostro browser un proxy americano (qui c’e’ una lista). stappate un’altra birra e godetevi la partita.

Installing Ubuntu 6.06 on Dell Inspiron 5150

i decided to switch to ubuntu, at last. and i’m definitely happy for the choice: smooth looking feel, decent speed and big selection of applications.

just one “down” point: i spent a whole weekend to install it! not bad, for a distribution said to be “easy on”… after an afternoon reading here, not finding any useful suggestion for my case, i found the solution.

for me (and my dell inspiron 5150) the alternate cd worked. so, just forget the install/live cd and go for the alternate: there are no differences, a part from the fact that you’ll have to forget the graphical istaller.
